Description

CCR2, C-C chemokine receptor type 2, is a G protein-coupled, seven transmembrane domain receptor protein. It has been found to be a monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1)-specific receptor (1,2). Activation of the CCR2b isoform by MCP-1 binding has been shown to trigger intracellular Ca2+ flux and activation of the Jak/Stat pathway (3). A variety of chemokine receptors, including CCR2, can serve as HIV fusion co-factors (4), making elucidating their specific functions important for more fully describing the process of HIV infection.

Products Data

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human spleen tissue using anti-CCR2/CKR2 RabMAb (catalog #2068-1). Flow cytometric analysis of permeabilized Jurkat cells using anti-CCR2/CKR2 RabMAb (red) (catalog #2068-1) or a rabbit IgG (negative) (green). Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitation pellets using (1) Jurkat cell lysate or (2) 1X PBS (negative control), in the presence of anti-CCR2/CKR2 RabMAb (catalog #2068-1).

Specificity

A synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal residues of the human CCR2/CKR2 was used as immunogen. The antibody does not cross-react with other CKR family members.

Storage Condition and Buffer

Store at -20 °C. Buffer: Antibody buffer, sodium azide, glycerol, and BSA. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.
