该设备采用加入冷水或薄（片）冰、加消毒液等方式，通过气流搅拌，螺旋浆叶推动对禽体进行清洗冷却和消毒，经该机预冷后，禽体内温度可降到5-8℃，工作时禽体由入口进入预冷机，螺旋浆叶推动禽体到出口处再由出料板将其翻出，在整个过程风机始终工作，风由壳体底部的器械鼓入使冷却液温度均匀，禽体表皮和内部组织均得到清洗和冷却，预冷效果理想。
